Several times a week, Maggie talks about the day she will marry her "Drewsy". Maggie and Drew have known each other since babyhood -- and have been inseparable since about 18 months old. The daycare ladies often tell me that they believe Drew and Maggie will marry one day, even though after Pre-K they split up to go to different elementary schools. These ladies say they've watched the two of them for the past 4 years and they are convinced it's a love story in the making! :) Four years old may be a little too early to predict that, but, then again, who's to say. Chris and I met at 15 years old -- and we, as a couple, are still kicking 24 years later! Whatever happens in their lifetime, one way or the other, I just hope Maggie and Drew live happily ever after. And however they find that happiness, together or apart, is just fine with me. It's just really cute to hear her talk about it. She certainly has definite ideas about her wedding day! The video below is sliced in to two pieces for the upload. Be sure to watch both for the full monologue!

Happy St. Patty's Day!
It's "Leprechaun's Day" as the girls call it -- and our house was FULL of chatter and wonder very early this morning! Grace and Maggie had set their leprechaun trap last night before bed. They were chomping at the bit this morning to see if they caught one! Alas, we did not catch a leprechaun again this year. But, a few of them lost their hats in our house -- a couple with tuffs of hair still attached! So, we are getting closer! Those silly leprechauns postered our house with their artwork, ate our green M&Ms, colored Izzy's water green and dumped baskets of stuffed animals all over the girls rooms! They also left gold coins and shamrock confetti EVERYWHERE! Oh, what a mess to clean up! But, the girls were thrilled! The girls couldn't wait to get to school and tell their teachers and friends. And, as a special St. Patrick's Day treat for their class, we made shamrock cookies -- each personalized with a name of a kid or a teacher (the girls' idea!). Happy St. Patrick's Day all!
Allowance Time!
The girls did so well with their first official week of household chores and responsibilities. They love to set the table, Maggie really likes to make beds -- and they both, begrudgenly and after much proding, pick up their toys nightly. Both girls especially liked payday -- and couldn't wait to get somewhere to spend it! So, the Disney Store got their $3! :)

Allowance Time
The girls are almost ready to turn 5 years old. Did I just type that?! FIVE. Can you believe it?! Because we can not! FIVE is a big deal. With FIVE comes responsibilities. FIVE is halfway to 10. And TEN is more than halfway to leaving the parental nest. It is never too early to teach responsibilities, right? Chores, allowance, savings. These kids need to be level-headed, after all! So, we've begun the allowance process. The girls have been given a chart with 3 chores to be completed each day. Make your bed, set the dinner table, put away your toys before going to bed. To complete these tasks means they each earn $3 per week. They are so excited! "What will we DO with all this money, mommy?!" In fact, when their grandparents asked that same question, they made me proud by saying, "save some and spend some!" Maybe these lessons will be easier taught than expected.
They were super excited to get up this morning and make their own beds! They've made their beds before, but always with mommy or daddy's help. Today, they conquered it on their own. And I think they did a wonderful job!
Izzy Boo
It was a warm spring day on Sunday and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The girls played outside, the dog played outside, we grilled out. Izzy was full of energy that day, so we decided to work with her some more on her Frisbee skills. Last summer, she wasn't all that interested. I guess one too many times of getting hit in the snout kills the mood. But this year -- look at her! It took her 3 tries and now she's catching a Frisbee often and quite well!

Deep Thoughts
Maggie: "How many fingers does Mickey Mouse have?"
Daddy: "Four, right?"
Girls: "Yes. But which one is missing? Because it's not the pinky. He has a finger on the end of his hand. And, it's not the pointer, 'cause he points a lot! And it's not the middle one, for sure."
Daddy: "I bet the ring finger is missing"
Maggie: "I don't know. It could be the thumb. There's no big gap between his fingers like there is with a thumb."
Yes. These are real -- and daily -- conversations! And yes, we've already had the one about why Donald Duck doesn't wear pants, yet needs swim trunks when he goes swimming!
